                    17. 1 tablespoon cumin seeds
                    18. 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
                    19. 1/2 teaspoon shahi jeera
                    20. 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
                    21. 1 teaspoon kashmiri red chilli powder
                    22. 1 teaspoon cumin powder
                    23. 1 teaspoon coriander powder
                    24. 1 tablespoon garam masala
                    25. 1 tablespoon sugar
                    26. salt to taste
                    27. 3-4 tablespoon oil
                    28. 1 tablespoon ghee

Method :
Step 1 :- boil the chana properly in cooker with some turmeric and salt and give 5-6 whistle. Now take a pan and fry the shrimp till golden, and keep aside.Fry the pumpkin pieces and fry golden brown & keep aside. Take some mustard oil in a pan and add two bay leaves, red chillies, whole garam masala, a pinch of asafoetida, cumin seeds and sugar. Saute them together for a while. Then add chopped onion and ginger-garlic paste to it.Saute them well together and then cover the mixture with lid for some time.

Step 2 :- After some time add chopped tomatoes, two green chillies and the desiccated coconut, saute it for a while and again cover it with lid. After 3-4 minutes open the lid and add the boiled chana dal, fried prawn/shrimp and fried pumpkin(kaddu) and mix everything together. Then add turmaric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and garam masala powder and mix them once again.

Step 3 :- Then 2-3 cups of water will go into it. Keep stirring the entire thing with the gas in low flame. Then add the yogurt and salt, mix them again and cover the pan for at least 5-6 minutes. After 5-6 minutes add cashew paste to bring the shahi taste to it and a little bit of kasuri methi(fenugreek leaves) for that nice earthy flavour. Mix them properly.

Step 4 :- Now, its time to prepare the tadka for the Chana dal. Take some ghee, curry leaves, shah jeera, mustard seeds together in a small pan and place it over the burner. When it gets heated, pour the entire thing into the chana dal and mix it well.

Its time to serve the dish. Garnish the dal with some sprinkling of desiccated coconut and curry leaves over it. Enjoy the amazing taste of this innovative recipe with Bedmi PuriMissi Roti or Aloo ka Paratha.
